About Connect Studios LA

Connect Studios LA is an actor-run studio dedicated to providing actors with the skills they need to succeed in Hollywood!

Connect Studios LA is Bonded (#350774C) and in compliance of all regulations regarding classes.

History of Connect Studios LA

Connect Studios LA was started in 2004 by Lynn Milano. She created a studio where actors could learn and network with casting professionals in a clean, respectful and supportive environment. She called it ‘Signature Studios’. In keeping with the name, actors and casting directors signed their names on the walls of the studio.

In 2008, Lynn Milano handed the reins over to another actor, Jeremy Scott Johnson, and the name of the business was shortened to the acronym SSLA’. Jeremy continued to expand the business with Lynn’s core values in mind: providing a clean, supportive, and respectful studio.

As the business developed, Jeremy’s acting and family life continued to grow as well. By the end of 2010, he made the decision to pass the torch to Ayumi Iizuka and Doug Morency so that he could refocus his time back to his acting career and family life…oh, and also to get a Masters Degree.

Ayumi Iizuka and Doug Morency had been taking classes at SSLA since they arrived in LA in 2010. They were impressed not only by the studio space and the welcoming environment at the classes, but also by the quality of the actors. At SSLA, actors were auditioned to ensure a consistent quality of performer.

Ayumi and Doug took over the studio in March of 2011. They continue to maintain the core goals of the studio while looking for ways to improve the experience for the actor. They came up with a new motto: “Learn, Network, Succeed.” They believe it is important to help actors connect with success.

This new motto led to a new name and a new location. On December 1st, 2011, ‘Connect Studios LA’ opened its doors. The new location, less than a mile away from the old studio, not only recreates the same warm, supportive environment as the original, but also has lots of free parking for everyone. You can find prints of the original signatures on the new walls as an homage to the spirit of what Lynn Milano created in 2004.
